Description
This course is meant to serve the purpose of preparing registrants for Registered Apprenticeship Program in the varying unions of the North Dakota's Building Trades Unions. The NDBTU has fifteen affiliated unions with numerous paths for careers in construction. It will include related instruction for the construction industry, a realistic job preview, provide life-skills as a construction professional, and connect registrants with employers and trade unions. There will be lessons on the following topics: Industry Awareness, Tools and Materials, Construction Health/Safety, Blueprint Reading, Basic Constgruction Math, History of Apprenticeships, Diversity in the Construction Industry, Green Construction andFinancial Literacy. Finally, students will be expected to create a usable resume to begin applying for positions with interviews throughout completion of the course.
