Description

In this course, students will study the management of fish, wildlife, and other populations. Students will apply principles from various subdisciplines of the biological and social sciences to current conservation problems. The course will examine topics such as predation, wildlife and ichthyological diseases, carrying capacity, and the history of wildlife conservation and managment. Focus will be on species located on Fort Berthold, both historically and presently, as well as Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara cultural beliefs and practices. Pre-requisite: BIO 150-Biology I, BIO 324-Ecology, or consent of the instructor. Offered Summer of even-numbered years.
